Personally, I do medium-wet coats (best to avoid runs and sags at ALL costs!!!), make it thick, more than 3 as the can suggests, the more build up the better. I then lay my painted item by a infra-red heater for a few hours on and off to cure it and tighten up the bonding as best I can. A decent heat source is your friend with this paint. As always, with any paining, prep is key. A good scuffing, and wax and grease remover beforehand!
